Hi, I’m Sejal! I’m a researcher in Human-Computer Interaction. I design and research technologies that bridge the knowledge accessibility gaps. My research spans across areas of social computing, informal learning, and generative AI applications.
Currently, I’m a PhD student at Harvard University in the
Intelligent Interactive Systems Group, advised by Dr. Krzysztof Gajos. I am exploring the literature on informal and incidental learning to examine ways in which science awareness and learning can be integrated into everyday life.
Previously, I worked as a UX Researcher building human-centered user interface across domains including productivity, healthcare, education, data for social good, creativity, finance, & e-commerce. Notably, at Google I was part of the Google Labs team, where I led UX research for two products unveiled at Google I/O 2023: MusicLM within the AI Test Kitchen app and NotebookLM.
I received my master’s degree from the Information School (iSchool) at University of Washington, where I was a member of Community Data Science Collective research group and was mentored by Dr. Benjamin Mako Hill.
In my free time, I write on my blog and enjoy tinkering with ideas and materials to build things.
